PLEASE READ - Dumble Heaven
I'm trying to improve Schematicheaven.com's Dumble Heaven page, which hasn't seen any new updates since 2000. So I'm looking for someone with the "definititve" collection of the most up to date clone schematics and or layouts for any of the following:
Big Tex Reverb
Dumbleator
Dumbleator II
Dumbleland Special
Dumbleman
Explosion (the original modded bandmaster Dumbles)
Overdrive Special
Overdrive Reverb Special
Phoenix
Steel String Singer
Winterland
I'd prefer to only post schematics that are true to the the originals. So please don't send anything that strays very far from HAD's original designs.
Also, if anyone can assist in helping me identify any currently posted schematics that have since been superceded with more correct versions, that would be a HUGE help.
My contact address is posted on the lower end of the page at Schematicheaven.com
Thanks for any help you guys can provide !!!

Hey Delta Blues:
Wow man, and much thanks to you for your service! Some of us were having heart attacks around here when you went down for awhile. Waaay good on you for keeping what you can in the public domain. We much appreciate it.

Ya know, Humble Overdraft is terribly inaccurate.... Some really bad mistakes....

Re: PLEASE READ - Dumble Heaven
I'm hoping that "someone" here who has taken the time to keep a collection of the most current and correct Dumble (and Trainwreck) schematics will do me the big favor of donating them.
If there's a replacement you know of for the "Humble Overdraft schem, please send it my way.
Also, I don't really seem to catch any grief from HAD anymore. He used to have "other people" email me about taking down the schematics I have. But he seems to have found other ways to spend his time.
But if anyone is afraid of having any personal identification on the schematics they have, I'll be happy to edit those kinds of things out before posting them.

Re: PLEASE READ - Dumble Heaven
Here at Amp Garage, I'm seeing something called the #124 and another called the ODS101. And then there are conversion schems for Bassman, Super Reverb, Concert, and Champ.
My Questions:
1. Is the ODS101 is the latest and greatest Overdrive Special clone schematic and the #124 is the Overdrive Special Reverb?
2. Are all the conversions based off of the original HAD Bassman Dumbles and are those what he initially called his "Explosion" model?
3. Are thes ODS101, #124, and Conversions the only 3 clone schematics that are currently available?

Re: PLEASE READ - Dumble Heaven
#124 the serial number of a specific Dumble 100W ODS. If I understand it's history correctly, it was built in 1984 then modified to have the Skyliner tonestack in 1988.

Re: PLEASE READ - Dumble Heaven
1) #124 is, from what I have found, the ONLY documented 80s or newer Overdrive Special schematic. It is not a clone, but the real deal and very accurate.deltablues_666 wrote:Here at Amp Garage, I'm seeing something called the #124 and another called the ODS101. 2) Someone else can answer this
3) My view of the ODS101 is that it is a collective experts best guess at a 90s or newer ODS circuit, but it is put together from pieces of information, rather than documentation of a single chassis number (like #124). I have seen recently posted schematics of individualized clone builds. Perhaps some would offer up their schematics if they knew you were looking for some new ones.

Gee, thanks! When I originally posted that drawing it was understood that I was piecing together various tips, which were intentionally a bit vague. I think that my sources did not want an exact schematic of the amps they had reverse-engineered to be made public, since the owners (or H.A.D. himself!) might recognize unique features that would allow it to be traced back to one particular serial number. The legal agreement signed before H.A.D. would begin construction specified severe penalties if the owner allowed anyone but H.A.D. himself to peek inside the amp.dogears wrote:Ya know, Humble Overdraft is terribly inaccurate.... In short, the Humble Overdraft Speciman was a "best guess" estimate at the time (1999) based on reports I received from several people who had looked inside the 1990's ODS amps. The idea was that DIY amp builders would play around with the design as drawn, and if they came up with something that sounded great, that they would post their modifications. As it turned out I think that most of the builders who came up with something good decided to keep it for themselves and started selling their own Dumble clones...
Just trying to put everything into its proper perspective.
Peace out

Re: PLEASE READ - Dumble Heaven
What is the dumbleman amp? is that the manzamp? What is the big tex reverb? and you will probably want to add overdrive reverb, and overdrive special reverb into two categories. Also there were some internal pics of the odessey and I wonder if they are around as well.

Your resources on blueguitar are great, thanks for making them available. I used info from you site for my amps, all of which are posted here with pictures, schematics and sound clips.
Again, thank you for sharing the info on you site!

P.S. I had moved all of the boutique stuff I had to a private password-protected site awhile back to discourage those darned "cutthroat commercial cloners" a few years ago. Nothing much new in there at this point but if anyone wants access I can send them the URL and the shared username and password. Lots of drawings and photos of my own D'Clone and the relayboard I made up, etc. You must swear under oath that your first name isn't Howard and that your middle name isn't Alexander...
P.P.S. So tell me how I screwed up drawing the tone stack? I haven't gotten around to comparing my old drawings to the new ones on the site here...
P.P.P.S. The 20 default emoticons here seem pretty negative to me- looks like there are several that are sad or confused or angry... Where is w00t???
