clips of my Heisthl (redplate amps) modded carr to ODS specs

I couldn't be happier with what Henry Heisthl did on this amp. I love the fact that the two channels don't share any tone controls. Henry also put reverb on the OD channel even though Carr said it cannot be done due to the design of the amp! He says on his website to be sure you dont want reverb because it cant be added later. Its perfect to me now and performs like a $3500 amp should. A dumblator and I'm set. Also, Herry did this for so little money I couldn't believe it. It wasn't more than a pedal!

I have 2 weber speakers inside it now both ceramic g1265's but one is a 30watt 1265.

I tried a few other speakers and it sound so good either way its hard to make up my mind!

BTW: I feel like a dork when i have to talk in vids like this so go easy on me.

I should have charged him more
For you soldering iron wielders, if someone wants you to do one of these it's pretty easy, the 2 tubes and controls are all right there and if you follow the Carr build style of terminal strips and leads soldered to leads you can do the whole thing just by adding a 5 point and a 4 point terminal strip near the OD tube. Amazingly no shielding needed and there is no noise. Here's a picture of the mod in progress with V1 gutted and V2 partially gutted, notice the 2 new terminal strips that will be used as additional tie points. The relay switches channels so you need to have the lead channel as full time OD.

heisthl,

Great sounds. Your amps seem to have a lot of dynamics - do you use heavy filtering/stiff supplies??

PS: By the way, its refreshing to hear D'style amps, played in a SRV-blues-style enviroment. A nice variation to the all the fine jazz-fusion playin (in the Robben Ford/LC tradition) that we usually get to hear.
