nice hearing from you again.

These transformers are for 2x 6V6, right?

What do you guys recommend for 4x 6V6 power and OT?

Thanks,

Yes, with doubing the load size (4,.8 and 16) the transformer will reflect close to 8K p/p which should be ok.

I am planning on trying a 4x6V6 using a marshall 50 watt replacement output tranny. I am guessing that 3.4K should be a pretty good match for 4 6V6 tubes. It would also allow you to use 2-EL34's or 2-6L6's if desired.

Power, probably anything from 620V to 680V CT should due the trick. I like the JJ 6V6 as they are stout and can take 450+ on the plates without too much problem. Plus they sound nice.

Michael,

Please excuse the spammish nature of my post, but my 18W OT would work well in a 2x6V6 amp. I haven't tried it myself yet with 6V6s, but it works great with EL84s and I know a few guys over on the 18W forum have used it for their 6V6 projects as well. I just picked up a SF Deluxe Reverb so maybe I'll try my EL84 OT in that amp sometime soon just to see what it sounds like.
Sincerely,

Hi Gary,

Thanks. Will a jtm 45 reissue OT also work for 4x 6V6?

YEah, but you want to use the 8K primary and then Half the speaker Impedance to give you 4K reflected plate to plate, ie, use a 4 ohm speaker on the 8 ohm tap, an 8 ohm speaker on the 16 ohm tap.
