Relay popping in HRM amps

Post by ElectronAvalanche »

Hi there,

so I have some popping sounds in a new HRM build. In the non-HRM amps I never had this problem, so I guess it is due to the two Master-outs being switched in the HRM vs the global master in the non-HRM. A 4M7 from the PI input to ground does not remedy this.

I guess that the Dumbleator will fix this problem as well (input impedance getting rid of any switching DC), but have not tried this yet.

Anyone else experience this popping in HRM amps only? I always use the same relays and relay supply as per Dumble specs.

Cheers,

Dote

I've never had this issue but a pair of 4m7 or 22Ms between the switching points should take care of it. The idea being that nothing is ever completly disconnected when the resistors are used.

I don't know if this is due to relay switching, but if it is it can' hurt to use two and check the slew rate of the wires connecting the two and cut one line 1/100th of a second shorter than the other. Thats Ken F. ingenuity. or you could go with the light relay that mesa's use.
