Hey all! I am new here, but not new to amps and tube gear. If anyone knows which version Robben Ford is using now I would appreciate it. Also, at the risk of sounding stupid, I am assuming that HRM indicates an ODS with the mods that incorporate a post OD tone stack. Is that the correct nomenclature?
Thanks,
Alex
Any one know which ODS version RF is using currently?

Hi Alex,You are right that HRM refers to the additional tonestack but there are a f ew more changes too.In the files section of this forum you will find the ODS101 non HRM schematic and another named ODS101HRM.Comparing the two schems it will be easy to figure out all the differences.
I would like to know the answer to your first question too but I don't think that this will happen anytime soon.

He had one extensively reworked about a year ago. There's a set of board which includes a Robben Ford discussion. His guitar tech frequently answers questions.

RF version information & sound clip.
Thanks for the info guys. It is very informative. I am now getting back to designing and tinkering after a 4 year break from the industry. I was the head designer and engineer at a major bass amp company, then for various reasons stepped away. It is nice to get a feel again and see what is going on. Very interesting. I have worked on two Dumble amps in the early 1990's .

Cool Alex. The only valid info is accurate info. Daved has not provided any real info on the RF forum. On the other hand, many believe RF to be playing Bluesmasters. Between discussions with his current tech, guys like Brandon at Bludo actually being on stage with his amp, and this clip I posted, you can get the sense that he may indeed be playing a Bluesmaster. The camp in the Youtube clip is a Bluesmaster circuit with boost on. TC2290 and Dumbleator. 2X12 G1265 cab. Pretty much spot on Jing Chi tones.

Re: RF version information & sound clip.
Bluesmasters are not just a PI change. They have a Fender style clean stack, mega boost PAB, and the PI/feedback/presence changes. They are indeed HRM as well. I think there is a close schematic by mdroberts in the file section. He took some liberties and changed stuff from what we believe are in the real amps though..... Let me know if you find the schematic.
Dogears, could you describe the amp a little more detailed (schematic?). I understand that Bluesmaster spec. is simply changing two resistors in the PI? but does the amp in the clip also have HRM curcuit? I love the tonesdogears wrote:Cool Alex. The "Bluesmaster" name refers to voicing of the clean section only, but yes, that amp does have the HRM module in the Overdrive section.
The Bluesmaster is totally different from the Skyline or Classic EQ.
The HRM is an option available with any of the 4 main voicings of the clean channel.
