hello all,
this forum is great... I'm curious about relay switching. I understand the basics of the circuitry and theory. I would like to try a relay switching arrangement in my next build or to add one to my existing amp. I think that a relay that has solder lugs and mounts w/ a flange of sorts to the chassis seems the easiest way to go. I do not really want to use a PCB relay. Can someone recommend a suitable DPDT relay for 12v? Ideally I could run this thing off the existing PT but might be willing to add a 12v transformer.
cheers

Re: Relay
Well using a PCB type relay and socket really helps keep things neat and tidy as you can solder in the socket and other components.
I used a PCB for my relay board which I bought from a forum member.
Is this for a Dumble type amp or what?

Re: Relay
This would be for my own amps I'm building... similar to Dumble but also Fender'ish. So you think PCB relay is the way to go? Would you put a PCB in the chassis separate from the turret or eyelet board just for the switching circuit? I don't know how it's done.
Re: Relay
Yep.
This is my D'Lite 44 from Brown Note.
I bought the relay boards and PS boards from Deric and sourced my own components.
I don't know if he has any more but Amp Doc was selling three relay board kits.

Re: Relay
You can't really go wrong with the Ampdoc board, it can be used for just about anything.

Depending on how complicated it is, you can make your own with a Sharpie and some ferric chloride. Skip
