I have been thinking about buying a couple to run some testing. I want to look at the impedance curves and also the frequency response. I have several new G12H65's on hand some I can duplicate the same tests on both drivers.

The Celestion G12H65 is expensive, but hard to beat IMO for these types of amps.

I have not measured them as of yet. But I will when I measure the rest of the parameters.

I got mine yesterday and popped it into the CrocoDLite, taking the Tone Tubby ceramic out.

It's definitely brighter than the Tubby, but in a nice way. I've never played a real Celestion 12-65, but I've put lots of V30s in amps. This Warehouse Speaker sounds better out of the box than any Celestion I've ever used.

It's not as smooth as the well-worn Tubby, but it's very nice for a paper cone speaker. I'm very pleased with the sound. Mind you, my CrocoDLite is not as Dumbly as most ODS-style amps, so other peoples results may differ. I think it'll only sound better when it gets 10 to 20 hard hours on it.

I also played my new Mustang model amp thru it, and it sounded great with that one. (The Mustang is a 6SL7 first tube tweed-meets-BF amp).

I currently have one Warehouse 10" and one Eminence Lil Buddy hempcone 10" in the Mustang. The Warehouse 10s are really cool, but they need to be run hard for several hours to loosen 'em up. Nice cone breakup. Awesome price point, too, at $29 each.

So, as far as I'm concerned, the Warehouse speakers are a good choice.

I seriously doubt the 65 will be anywhere close to an EVM.

The other TS parameter that is missing is the XMAX and to me (I built vented bass cabinet for the past 25 years) this is extremely important. You need to know how much cone excursion there is near the port frequency.

FWIW the EVM has 3.3mm of XMAX. I would guess the 65 is about .3.

How many hours on the speaker? I am just curious. I normally break speakers in for 24 hours using a swept sine wave from 30 to about 100 hertz at half power. The magnets do get warm, but it really does make the speakers come alive.

Interesting on the reissue to the orignals. Most comments I have seen have been reversed. The reissues sound better than the originals. I can't comment, do not have a set of originals. Anyway the reissues are available and the originals are close to being unobtainium for the masses.
