Help with troubelshooting...
Can someone check something for me. On the Overdrive volume pot/ratio pot, with the control turned all the way up what ohmage reading do you get between the wiper and the grounded lug?

First off, you'll have to disconnect to get an accurate reading. In the circuit you may be reading other components.tubedogsmith wrote:Can someone check something for me. All the way up you should read max from wiper to ground. I.E. if it's a 100K pot you should read 100K. I always measure pins 1 to 3 before installing to choose the closest value.
Oh, and we read resistance, not ohmage.
Re: Help with troubelshooting...
FWIW, ohmage is a prefectly valid word for referring to eletric resistance measured in ohms...Bob-I wrote: Oh, and we read resistance, not ohmage.

In the FET world we call it Drain Bamage

If someone has an amp open on the bench could you take a measurement in circuit and let me know, thanks.

One amp of mine I just checked measures 270.5K.

Re: Help with troubelshooting...
Pete, thanks, do you have a 250k pot in there?

Nope, that's a 1Meg. (HRM) Measures about 986K when not in the circuit (no wires attached). As stated by others earlier, you can not get a measurment of just the pot with wires attached.

Re: Help with troubelshooting...
When I got the problem sorted out I got a reading of 89K on the 100K pot. The problem ended up being a bad contact on the relay board. Thanks for the comments.
