What is the FET input on the ODS?

Post by markmalin »

Just wondering what this is for, or what it does?

I'll take a stab.
The FET input was designed for guitars with piezo pickups, such as the type on many acoustics.
From what I read, it doesn't work that great and usually the only time someone includes it in a build is to be faithful to the original design.

I aksed that quesyion a while back and the general concensus it was for piezo equipped instruments but didn't sound very good, and has such a low input impedance that normal electrics feedback. Some guys played mandolin through it.
I would rather use the extra input for a different electric voicing.Like maybe a dedicated single coil and humbucker inputs. No EQ changes required.
Crystal latice or vacuum, that is the question.
