Re: Effectloop / Dumbleator sound issue
Glad to hear you got it works for you! How do you like the compression of the cathode follower?

Re: Effectloop / Dumbleator sound issue
With this amp and the Dumbleator i actualy don't notice any added compression. It's pretty much the same as it is without the Dumbleator. The amp has some compression on it's own and i can add to that by switching to the tube rectifiers. I hardly ever do this anymore because i like the more punchy and bold sound. It has more dynamics. With the SSS i do notice more compression, but this amp drive's the cathodefollower harder (I set the drive on the Dumbleator lower to get the same signal on the delay input)
With my ODS like amp I now have to balance the master with 68p brightcap and drive knob on the Dubleator to get the sound and highend bite i want. If I open the master volume more, the effect of the 68p cap gets less, but I don't have to explain this to you
There is no need to use the brightswitches on the Dubleator.
We play some Robben Ford songs and the sound is spot on.(at least to me) Great to play.
One odd thing i noticed is the sound of the 220K//270p i used on the send signal. I can switch this in and out of circuit and with just a cable in the loop, the resistor and cap attenuate the lows somewhat and add a little brightness. This I expected. But when using the Dumbleator the effect of the resistor and cap it the other way around. It makes the sound somewhat smoother and softer (in a nice way) while switching to the direct send signal without cap and resistor adds more treble bite and punchyness in the low end. It is not night and day difference, but it is clearly noticeable.
