Correct Martin, some Ods have the plate wire from the inverting side close to the gnfb or speaker wire.

Either way it's routed in a "safe" way, and not used as a mechanism to promote feedback.

A long time ago I tried coupling the GNFB wire to various spots throughout the preamp and PI to see if I can somehow generate some + feedback and instability and didn't have much luck..Maybe some else here has tried this with more success??

In a marshall style circuit the GNFB wire normally causes a squeal if placed near preamp wires

Sure!. I could get the thing to squeal but was just unable to control it??

+1 on the GNFB pot. I left it in. I used a 100k pot and it seems to go from stock smooth setting into Ripper territory with plenty of in between. I set it differently for different guitars and rooms.
