How close is the Fuchs Black Jack 21 MKII to an ODS curcuit?

Post by VintageCharlie »

Wondering if anyone has seen the insides of a Black Jack 21 MKII and how close it is to an ODS circuit? The price is nice and they seem to sound really nice on clips.
Obviously the 3 voicing switches on the front panel are gone, so i guess there are quite a few other changes.

The current Casino amps (as opposed to the older Trainwreck single channel versions), is basically a "baby ODS", stripped-down tone stack, in rock mode, no deep or brite switches. There is a buffered send on the loop, which is pre-PI and post preamp.

We actually use the same output iron and a smaller and simpler power transformer. The biggest cost savings is in the labor to build them, since the whole amp is one board basically.

Very good configuration. I think that is, what most people need.

Not really consciously thinking “d’lite” but yes, it worked out. The “tricks” are there reverb circuits and the boost. A future Mk-3 Casino will have more cool features. At some point.
