Morning HRM clip

Post by stelligan »

Big thread on theGearPage about someone wanting an amp to do the Robben thing. This is my stab at it. I know I don't have the licks, but the sound is OK. Just heard the Robben version for first time yesterday. It's an old Cream song isn't it? Should I post this there??

Thanks a lot Scott.
It is an Audix i5 up close and A CAD Trion 7000 ribbon in the room - about 6 feet away at ear level.

That's off of Mystic Mile. Robbin's tone is brighter. I've often wondered which guitar he used. The album precedes his association with Baker so it may be the '60 tele.

You guys all make me feel bad with your licks. Great job Stelle. Your vocal?

Thanks skyboltone.
Yep, I sang that.

Scott wanted to hear that nonHRM Music Man that heisthl did for me:

Thanks Pete and Fischerman.
I think I am nearly done tweaking these amps and ready to do some serious recording.

Stelligan will be visiting me in Phoenix tomorrow and maybe I can get him to do a couple of clips on a completely off the reservation style OD amp I've been perfecting.

1st clip is the amp from this thread:
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=3264
It is now housed in a 1 x 12 wide combo with G1265 speaker

2nd clip is this amp:
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=1620
It now has the original Eminence OEM Music Man speaker back in it.

Guitar was a Squire '51 with Duncan little 58 in the neck and Bill Lawrence at bridge. I have a blend pot instead of a pickup selector in that guitar. Probably would guess 75% bridge 25% neck pu.

heisthl was heavily involved with the birthing of both of those babies.
