Second edition of ODS build
Hi again. Does anyone care to check for obvious mistake on this build? I feel a bit in the dark on this, a bit over my head. There are two layouts, and they are a bit different, so I need to be a bit careful. And I wonder>:
One thing is a bit in the dark,
How does the voltage for the relays connect, I don't see where the the second one is going into the boards?

Re: Second edition of ODS build
the relay voltage comes from the voltage regulator to the coil of the relay across the diode and then across to the other relay the same. There's normally an eyelet/hole on the end of the relay boards by the diode. the power goes to the striped end of the diode and the other end goes to the rear switches.

+1 on what Marcus states.
Looking better/safer than first edition.
If you haven't already powered up the amp;
please read following link and if you dont have one, build a limiter before plugging in the amp into 120/240 V

Re: Second edition of ODS build
Hi and thanks. I think I will build a current limiter. I just wonder if the 230/240 volt in Europe will act differently? According to some there is one "hot" lead in 110v Us, I am not sure that's the same here? I see some seem to think that 250w lamp would be best? Any views?

Most of Norway is on IT power network.... both wires are hot, so it just doesn't matter which wire you break for the light bulb.... Not sure about 250W bulb... sounds high... Problem is we can hardly find good old fashioned bulbs anymore...

My understanding is the bulb should be about what the expected current draw of the amp is, so it can keep it from going wild if something's wrong.

I was lucky to get a 25w lamp in a store nearby. Made this, as seen in pic. I wonder if 25w would be ok?

Re: Second edition of ODS build
A 25W bulb will limit the current a bit too much, I think. For a rule of thumb, I would choose an incandescent bulb that has wattage roughly the same as the output power of the amp. This applies regardless of your line voltage (US or European). Personally, I use a 60W bulb for everything, and I like a clear glass envelope.
Re: Second edition of ODS build
The problem is to get bulbs that are of the old fashioned ways, only led these days. Is there an option to have two in parallel or some other way?

Re: Second edition of ODS build
Sure, paralleling lower wattage bulbs would be fine. Then you could have an adjustable current limiter :^)
Re: Second edition of ODS build
I bought from Ebay UK. They had 100w bulbs.
