Man that sucks.

You don't expect that, so you end up chasing your tail around the amp looking for problems.

Glad you figured it out.

Wow sorry to hear about the tranny. I had the same kind of issue this week, was building a new Zingaro and the first time I flipped the switch I blew the breaker in the shop. Turned out that the primary wires where shorted inside of the transformer to the core grounding the AC line right to the chassis once the switch was turned on.

Hats off to my unnamed supplier , Weber. Yes , unannounced and ten days later a brand new output transformer shows up in the mail. They didn't even ask for the bad one back , which gives me the chance to see if I can rewind the primary and get it working again. Way to go Weber.

Weber transformers

Post by Hepcat »

I use Heyboer output transformers sourced from Weber all of the time. Sometimes I use Weber power transformers and they have been fine too. TA has been really going out of his way to give us good service! I ordered a 12 inch Blue Dog and a Heyboer 40 watt transformer set. All built to order and I had them in two weeks and just before Christmas!
