What would you like to know? It's really not THAT hard to contact him, However, From what I understand, unless you are Carlos Santana and basically support him, he doesn't build amps anymore. If he likes you, and approves of your playing he will mod a PRISTINE blackface bassman for you to the tune of about $6K (you supply the pristine bassman of course).

Leave a message on the answering machine at the following number and Howard will get back to you in the next 24-60 months providing you do not attempt to contact him again in the meantime, in which case you hereby agree to forfeit any and all property you own to him.

And remember: If you're not amongst his "chosen few" you'll wait a long time for a repair too. One LA studio "God" (well known, trust me), is waiting over 5 years for an ODS returned for a simple repair. The stories he's been told are sad, pathetic and would just make you shake your head. You would think a guy NOT busy building, could do a few repairs once in an ion.

Well Phoenix is not that far from LA - Tell the guy to get it back and bring it to me. You never know the problem might be under the goo....

Which studio musician is this? LC? Steve L? It's funny. I'm sure howard has visited this website. I googled Dumble and found this website pretty easily. I'm sure that if he has internet service he's been here.
If someone likes your experimental music then it isn't experimental enough.

No, LC, Robben, Carlos (and others I'm sure), get their amps done promptly.

For some reason this poor guy is waiting over five years ! His name would surely would surprise you (he's been a heavy hitter for years), but I'm not comfortable putting his name on the web, potentially jamming him up even more. He's heard "the amp is fixed, but the chassis is in one place, and the cabinet is in the other", as well as other pathetic drivel. Like Funk, I just scratch my head and wonder what the deal is.

I offered to fix it a few years back, and he said "sure, if I ever get it back". Nuff-said. I'm sure HAD reads the web, possibly here. I know he's had my e-mail when he needed it.

Actually, he does not mod "pristine" examples, not sure where you get your info, he will do some silverface ones, one of his favorites are Pro Reverbs, he spec'd some out for me. He will not mod a good specimen...

Given the scarcity of Pro Reverbs, I don't think anybody, even HAD, should be modding them.

Especially rare are BF Pro Reverbs, which are very good sounding Fender amps.

These days, since there are plenty of alternatives to a real Fender chassis, I don't see much reason to mod a real Fender chassis. Makes more sense to restore genuine Fender stuff, even the late silverface with MV and bad cabinetry.

I get my info from people who have had dealings with him, and the once-was-a-deluxe "Overdrive Delux" on my bench right now.
