Hello. I am working on converting one of the Judybox 1X12's to a D'Lite, and had a few questions.
1 - The D'lite tweaked power scheme I have shows 3K/3W dropping from B to C. However the layout shows 1K. Which should I use?
2 - I had real great results elevating heaters on my Plexi6V6, by taking a tap off of (C) B+ tap, and creating voltage divider 180K/47K with bypass 1uf, with 6.3V CT coming off the divider vertex. Any good reasons not to do the same on this amp?
3 - I have an ambition to put an onboard D-lator, but the donor chassis is already punched for (3) Noval, (3) Octal (2 X Power Tubes + Rect). I have no room between any of the Novals, but could recess one towards the main board. Do you think a recessed slot at V1 would be best? Or, recess one between V2 and PI?
Thanks in advance for any help. Dave.

Re: D'lite 22 tweaked questions
Is your amp 2x 6V6?
If so I would try the 1K.
What are your voltages?
The problem with cramming a D'lator into an existing amp is the possibility of more noise as a result.
I know guys that have done it but they usually drilled their own chassis.
I like a stand alone D'lator because I have several amps I use it with.[/quote]

Re: D'lite 22 tweaked questions
Thanks for the response Structo. Yes it will be (2) 6V6. I don't have any voltages, yet. I am just laying out where everything will go. I think I will take your advice on the external D-Lator.
I would like to hear your (and anyone elses) feelings on the following. Several things I am looking at implementing in my board layouts now, before it becomes too hard to change, are:
1) Using a choke instead of the 300ohm 10W Resistor. I have a Hammond 158L 15H 75ma 411 ohm choke, that I'm thinking should work fine.
2) Elevating heaters. Worked great in my Plexi-6V6. Thinking it might be a good thing to do here, too.
3) Thinking about giving each 6V6 it's own bias adjustment. I didn't do that on the Plexi6v6, and have to settle for bias that is several millivolts (3 to 5) different between tubes on matched pairs.
4) Thinking of adding a 10K PI trim pot. I've been reading that is a good feature for these D type builds.
Good or bad ideas? Thanks.

Re: D'lite 22 tweaked questions
I went ahead and pulled the trigger, and will just see how some things work out.
Doing heater elevation, non-twisted preamp heater rails, choke (but bought a 300 ohm 9 Henry instead of the 15 Henry), (2) HT fuses, also adding PI trim pot.
Not adding separate bias adjustments.
I'll let you all know how it turns out.
