Dumbl-ized Mesa Calibre 50+

Post by scoultr »

Hi Folks, Starting a new build with a re-claimed Mesa Cal 50+ chassis, PT, OT and as many bits as I've been able to salvage.

Thinking that The Normster might be the best fit - This one to be exact - https://tubeamparchive.com/download/file.php?id=37512
but with the Mesa EQ as well.

The Power supply will be from scratch.

I'll be posting pics as I go along the road...

Any pointers/advice/thoughts from anyone would be welcome.

I would add the 100K trim pot for the overdrive entrance at the back of the amp chasssis instead of keeping it inside the chassis. I love being able to adjust it and having to open the chassis every time is a pain!
I also did the 1 tube reverb like in the layout you posted but switched to a 2 tube reverb. Since i was using a short pan the one tube wasn't enough but with the long pan ,as the layout shows, it would be fine. Might be good to leave room for one more tube just in case.

Cheers
