Building D'lite after 10 year hiatus (Help)

Post by Aharon »

Hi everybody,I'm a member of the forums since at least 1999 but I had to take a break around 2007.Long story short, found the box containing all my amp stuff, built a quick Booger 2020 to get the mojo back and now ,since I had 98% of the parts and boards stuffed, want to finish the D'lite.I have a Hammond PT,some old but nice OT etc so i have to do some tweaks but I,d like to know if I can follow this layout(i think my boards are really close to this)

Any help will be appreciated.
I,m a little rusty so be patient.
I think Mark Huss may remember me,we traded some messages back in the day

:)
Thanks

If that's not it, I'm sure you can find something suitable. Looks like that layout has a dual primary OT for running two different power tube types. Are you going that route?

Looks like you were one of the early ones... #200 in fact, joined in November 2005.

These are the two basic threads.
There are plenty more.
Good luck, welcome back.

This layout doesn't have the switched OT primary.

If your chassis is one of the original ones that didn't have holes for effects loop jacks, you might want to drill some before you start assembling the amp.

Or leave them out. Not everyone needs the loop. But it is a nice-to-have.

Thanks for the heads up guys.
My chassie is not not the standard kit chassie,im afraid my amp will be sort of a love child, not for purists but the heart is in the right place.
Wont be using the OT switch but might get the loop going.
Thanks again

This is the layout I'm following,I have a couple of questions:
First,I don't have a bias tap (I'm using a Hammond 272DX) so I'm guessing that changing the bias supply resistor from 470 ohm to 220K will take care of that (if I take power from the HV).
Second, the Presence pot has a 0.1mF (in yellow) and other layouts have 1mF,which one is the correct one?

Flick switches ,there's 3 on the front and 2 in the back,is there a layout that shows what are they?...Don't remember seeing the ones in the back labeled.

Thanks

front 3 from left to right PAB, Mid Boost, Bright
rear 2 from left to right OD, PAB
as far as presence values(.1uf, 1uf 2.2uf) experiment also with NFB values
6k2, 4k7, 5k6
you may find one that suits you best

And that bias approach (lifted from the Express) works well.
