minihrm ef86 shared master volume

Post by arjepsen »

Hey.
I've been in the proces of building a minihrm 86 special out of an old radio a friend gave me.
On the front there was two dials. One I use as the guitar input hole, and the other I would like to use as a master volume.
However on the schematic posted, there was two seperate masters for each channel.
I've been trying to combine them into using just one, so I that big nice dial on the front would have a logical function.
There was a few problems with it:
The clean master is a 1M with a 70pf from wiper to ground.
The OD is only 500k, and is connected to the tone pot.
So I'd need to do some switching:
In OD mode the 70pf needs to be switched out, a 1m across the pot to make it closer to 500k switched in, and the tone pot connected.
In clean mode I still needed to ground the OD input.

I've come up with the current schematic using a 3pdt switch that was already in the old radio. So far it seems to work fine, except the OD volume is quite loud compared to the clean, and the OD volume rises way too fast on the master volume dial.

What do you guys think?
