Meeting in Helsinki!

Post by rogb »

Well it's been just about 4 years since I built my 86 Special according to mat from Finland's design and we finally got to meet up last week at Molly Malone's in Helsinki for a few beers!

It was Open Mic night and we were well entertained by a variety of performers as we chatted. I had played there the week before but decided to just listen this time and Matti and myself had a chance to chat about all things Dumble, guitars and other amps too.
It was really great meeting up and we vowed to do a song or two together next time I am over.

It is the first time I have ever met up with anyone from TAG and so it was a special time - from the internet to real life..
Here is a cell phone camera memento of our meeting.
Looking forward to next time :)

To me it was also first time to meet a net-friend, what a wonderful thing.
What a very inspirational meeting it was. Roger was a really nice guy and he seems to know a lots more of the D-circuits than I do. Also very interesting chat about pickups and pickup winding. Might order new set for my start if possible(little tired of the Kinmans). I tried to brainwash Roger for the uniqueness of the germanium fuzz faces... I think he was not so convinced at all  Also I was suggested to build a 100W d-style. I think I will some day. I just got back to my first D-circuit build. It is a 50W high plate skyline. Have not played it for few years but it sounded really good. I might try to record something with it.

Looking forward for the next time,
mat
