Thanks everyone! Mat, thanks for the tip about snubbers. Think I'll give a couple a try on stages 3 and 4, though. I'm trying to keep the first two stages as open sounding as possible for the sake of the clean mode. I'm also going to change the bright cap and NF pot. I've been meaning to buy a reverb unit and have had my eye on the Spring Chicken by Malekko. For now, I've been enjoying this echo unit in the loop. This thing's been a lot of fun and if the snubbers turn out well I'll likely get another clip up.

The amp has changed a bit and I thought I'd share my changes. I rewired a bit and installed another board for the Ratio control setup instead of my stupid NF thing I had going on, which is switchable, having it in or out, and is very effective tonally. Raised pre voltages by about 25v to around 175v. I've been throwing a couple 390pf snubbers on V2 and haven't chosen whether I'm going to put them in there permanently. I decided I'd prefer having the Master after the clean side too (Which is why my rewiring is somewhat strange). With what I had there, it was the simplest way to go and is problem free. Also added a switch to quell oscillations from stages 3 and 4 when in clean mode. They only happened when the Level control was just about dimed and oscillated in conjunction with the Ratio control. Another thing was my first coupler, the .039uf, which was acting up and I came to find that the hot lead had become severed internally, but still read proper value when put back in. Replaced that with a .04uf. Also removed the ceramic bright 100pf, which was somewhat microphonic, and replaced with a Sang/CDE 100pf silver mica. Amp is perfect now. Tweaked the bias and my Sylvania is at a very happy idle with a Zaerix 5Y3.

Did another clip as well, showing clean and dirty with switching all along. If you can get through it all, let me know what you think. This thing is a mess of fun and I dig it! :D
