Twin Reverb, add OD using normal channel....

Has anyone modded the Twin Reverb does use V1 as the OD section with any success? I have a super nice TR I'd like to make use of the normal preamp tube and tone stack by placing it between the reverb tap off point and the mixer that mixes the reverb back in. Any suggestions? I am not an amp guru so I'll take all the help I can get. I built the TR, but I didn't design it!
