Tube socket replacement

Post by scotto »

I have an old Bandmaster that's been modded to 2 channels with a D style overdrive on one. I'm getting tired of cleaning and retensioning these old and very tired tube sockets. Has anyone tried those teflon sockets with adjustable tension and gold plated springs? They aren't cheap, but I'd really like to forget about socket service.

I'd just go for run-of-the-mill new sockets. They shouldn't need any help for 10-15 years unless you're retubbing once a week. You'll probably be on to another amp by then.
