Hi!
I've a little question:
If i Inrease the one (TOP) Cathode bypass caps on clean and drive channels to 10mf (instead 05mf) the sound will be more bass-heavy or fatter?
And yes i know the difference between bass and fat;-)
Many thanks in advance!!!

Yes it will change the response.
Without going into all the math, it will sound fuller.
If you are trying to dial in single coil pickups, the large cathode caps can help them to sound fuller.
If you play humbuckers, I found the 5uF caps better.
I actually have a .68uF on CL1a (first cathode) that I can switch in or out with a 5uF.
All the others are 5uF.

With a 1.5k Rk you will move the rolloff point from approximately 20Hz down to 10Hz. Whether you call that bass or fat I don't know. I only know that my ears can't hear a difference.

I actually do notice a difference. The lows are deeper, but it is subtle. More importantly, it feels different. Try it, and you'll see/hear what I mean.

Re: ODS Cathode bypass caps question !!!
Very easy to try and listen... Just clip a second 5uF across the existing ones. The -3dB point is 20Hz, but there is still -1dB at 40Hz.

That's what I was going to say.....it's not so much of a "hearing" thing as it is a "feel"jelle wrote:I actually do notice a difference. The lows are deeper, but it is subtle. More importantly, it feels different. Try it, and you'll see/hear what I mean.

Re: ODS Cathode bypass caps question !!!
I did the same thing on one of my amps, putting a 10uF on a "Deep" switch. It's not an ODS but it works great to fatten it up & add some depth.
