It may be silly to ask, but I'm getting confused with so many options. Which ODS is Dumble of choice for most?
Thanks

Welcome to the Amp Garage.
Can you put your location in your profile?
That will help us help you, with recommendations and parts sources.
It really depends on what you wan tone wise.
You have to consider what artist that uses Dumble amps you like.
Who do you like that uses a Dumble.
For example, Robben Ford uses a high plate Skyliner ODS.
You can see that getting hip to the lingo helps.
Translated it means, plates are 220K/ 150K respectively, and other varibles.
Basically if youlike the artists tone that you have heard then you came to the right place.
But and a big but, you have to be willing to do a bit of work to search out the circuit that best suits you.
In other words you are expected to do some work before we will be willing to help youl
I know that sounds harsh, but, we have put a lot of work into desiphering these circuits so,
to do a little bit of homeword is not unreasonable.

Re: Which Dumble
Torg has added some schematics and layouts on some amps, so he has contributed quite a bit. He's not a noob by any means.
The answer to "which one" is not that easy. You will hear many different answers, none may be right for you or they all may be right for you. Do you play single coils, humbuckers, rock, jazz, blues, metal, heavy OD, light OD, clean only, slide, etc...the list goes on and on. So, that is why I think Structo is asking you what artist you like that plays a Dumble. The reality is that you will get some feedback, make a best guess, and then get started on something and then find out you want to know what you are missing compared to the other builds. So tell us more about what you play/want and we'll help get you there. You're heading down a good path cause these guys know what they are talking about.

@Structo - location added
I know I choose the short cut, and my question was stupidly noob-ish, but really - so many variants make's me confuse.
The music I enjoy is an 70's rock with a mix of coke&heroin. Farty, and/or saturated fuzz units, and cranked Plexis and Hiwatts. But I also dig SRV a lot or Pink Floyd for trippy climate.
Currently I'm looking for something with heavy load of headroom, my overdrive needs are fully covered
Edit: Currently I'm a singlecoil type of guy

Re: Which Dumble
Easy......build you a 100W 2nd gen circuit. I built one with almost 500V on the plates lighting a quad of 7581's.torg wrote:
