This is partially due to the fact that Dumble modded a Fender into more like a Marshall

No I don't agree , He would take the original design of the amp he was working on and would improve the amp's attribute's of it
Brad your saying that he didn't change the design/topology of the Showman at all..So he did what then?..Upgraded the parts...
Not trying to be a smart ass..Just a little confused..
With Respect!!

No What I'm saying is Mr D does whatever it take to make the Amp he is working on sound the best for the person he is making it for
Nothing to do with Marshall unless thats what he's going for

Gottcha!!.. So let's assume somebody plays one of your UP modded Showmans and calls up the man asks for the Ultraphonix mod similar to the one you did for Brad or whomever, Dumble couldn't do it since they were all different..I find it a bit hard to believe but I respect your opinion.. Thanks!!

" The psychics on my bench is the same as Dumble'"
who did the clone? and is the original for sure healty? power supply caps and tubes basically... like it sounded when it left dumbles shop...... tag bags on matchless alot, and I was right there with him.. playing crap sounding after crap sounding ones across the line.... even pro players rigs..... then I played one dc30 phil the owner had, sounded so good! opposite of all the ones I'd run into time after time...
also, I'd guess the ultra Phonix is a standard mod, for the amp he's modding... but he refined it over the years... not built for the player most of the time... they sold these at true tone right?

I'm sure he's has a certain guideline he follow's for each Amp design he's working on and goes on from there
Reviving an old thread, but I was wondering did you ever get some compiled info on UP?
I pieced together something based on various threads in the forum.
I might be soon having a Pro Reverb clone that may undergo UP (or whatever I pieced together) surgery.
