Sure looks like send/return trimmers to me. Looks like they had to cram the extra tube in there. Man, I just can't imagine doing mods to an amp that has a $30K resale value.

You don't think it was modded by HAD himself?
Yeah, just as you mentioned, there's an extra tube between the 2nd and 3rd tube.
Must be some Dumbleator circuit in there.

According to a well informed source. Dr D never put a d-lator in an amp preferring to sell an outboard box for extra $$$$. Pretty sure that is a post D hack.jazzyjoepass wrote:You don't think it was modded by HAD himself?

I'm going to double check, but I believe this ODS belonged to a friend of mine. He had Lee Jackson put a tube buffered effects loop in his ODS, but I'm not sure on the details. jt

Remember that the $30k resale value is fairly recent. Up until a few years ago a Dumble could be had for $3-4K.Normster wrote:Sure looks like send/return trimmers to me. Looks like they had to cram the extra tube in there. Man, I just can't imagine doing mods to an amp that has a $30K resale value.

Well, I'm still waiting on verification on this amp. However, if it is the amp I'm remembering, then this was a long time ago and things were very different. Today these amps are investments but they used to just be cool amps that were very hard to get. jt
