Ya. Been for sale for a while. They do look like great builds!!!
Formica
I've been using the exact same formica pattern as the FET board in my amps for about three years now. And I've never seen it on a counter top!
Re: Quinn SDO HRM Amp on ebay
Apparently I need to get that one back in and mod to a non hrm so someone can do something good with it.
that lead dress sucks... I have few amp I am proud of in that department. Appreciate no one calling it out for the mess it is. You are too kind.

I do find it interesting how you've worked out the relay boards. Not as pretty but more functional. Do you use sockets or solder the relay straight into the relay? Any problems with heat?

Your to hard on your self, it never crossed my mind as being untidy for lead dress. I’m just interested to see another builders work.
Where’s the HRM board hidden?

The HRm controls are on Dual Concentric pots (behind the clean Tonestack)lovetone wrote:Your to hard on your self, it never crossed my mind as being untidy for lead dress. I’m just interested to see another builders work.

Re: Quinn SDO HRM Amp on ebay
Shad, that amp has a very interesting feature pack (switchable FBs etc) and the implementation of HRM pots beneath the chicken head knobs is brilliant.
Way cool
Way cool
Diva or not? - Respect for Mr. D's work....)
Re: Quinn SDO HRM Amp on ebay
Your right this is a very interesting amp, if this where in the uk I think it would be in a new home by now.
Re: Quinn SDO HRM Amp on ebay
IIRC I was getting them from allparts.
They do require a little modification though!!
They have a center detent that needs to be removed.
You'll also have to trick the mid pot for the HRM (it's a variable resistor so you can lay an R across it to make it whatever you want...
and if you really want to do it exact you need to also mod the bass pot using a 1MA audio pot of the same type and pop it in for the HRM side as well...
That all said I would recommend not using them if you can find the real estate for separate pots.
Check your PMs as well. ;O) Cheers m8!

Re: Quinn SDO HRM Amp on ebay
Eric sorry I missed your questions m8.
No not pretty but works just fine.
I determined early on that sockets didn't do much for me.
Knock on wood relays have been pretty good to me so far.
Never any heat issues going in and can't really recall any trouble with them other then my own error.
I prefer small PCB boards these days for relays. Way easier to deal with IF a problem ever comes up and they have a zillion uses. ;O)
