hooking up 4,8, 16 0hm switch?

ok so I have a switch for 4,8,16
it has 4 lugs, with my continuity probe I found the common connection lug
tested it effectively with turning the knob and all made sense
than i connected the wires from the output transformer to their respective lugs. now when i do the continuity test all lugs are in continuity regardless of the switch setting which is also in continuity with ground? is this normal?
I have connected the black wire to the ground on the input speaker jacks?

I think the fact that your output transformers' three output taps and ground wire are all part of the same coil of wire, and that's why you're seeing continuity now that you've soldered them all to the switch!

That's normal, just make sure you only run one wire from the common lug on the switch to the hot lug on the amps speaker jack.

You cannot go by continuity once the OT is wired up nor can you use continuity for checking the filament supply on the PT once it is wired up.
