new Dlite style build with 6v6's
Here is a build in progress of a Dlite style build with 6V6's.
Sounds D-liteful.
Hammond iron.
Preferred series preamp tubes from the Tube store--nice!
It's going into A 1-12 combo cab with a Celestion G12-65

Gonna be a fun amp to crank up! What are the panels like? Silver? What kind of cap at V1 LNFB?
Looks great

The panels are black and there is no LNFB on this amp.
I like the sound without it;debating putting in one with a switch. The cap you are referring to is a siemens polystyrene cap.As long as you don't overheat them they rock.

Damn, I am to the point where I need to wear my glasses at all times. That's the cap on the 220k that resembles pio?

yep those are 715's...please let us know if it sounds ok with them. I built with 715's and it sounded bad, bad, bad......changed them for MPP's and it made a HUGE improvement....Structo wrote:Did you use 715 orange drops?

Sounds good, good, good with the 715's in there. Can't imagine why it would sound bad?

Just the difference between polyester (6PS) and polypropylene (715).
It's weird because polyprop is a much better dielectric performance wise.
Less loss, lower ESR and more stable with heat.
I have wanted to try a quad of 6V6's in my 100w just to hear the difference.

also tried a trio of the Tubestore's 'Preferred series' 12AX7's and the difference in tone is astonishing!
Wow do those tubes sound good!
