Has anyone experimented with a different OD trimmer value?

Has anyone experimented with a different OD trimmer value?
I was wondering if anyone had gone "off the reservation" and experimented with a different pot value, possibly a different taper to get a smoother, less grainy OD sound, or even to get a finer control on this variable.

Sure, on my D'lite I moved the OD trimmer to a pot on the back.
I put a tail resistor on it so the sweat spot was between 10:00 and 2:00.
But, I can't remember if I used an audio pot or what the value was right now.
I just checked my notes and it says I used a 2K7 tail on it but not what the pot was so it may be 100K.
Fairly common mod.

I'd like to get in that 10:00 - 2:00 area as well, the trimmer (which is also on the back panel of my amp) is 100K and sounds like it's one of those pots that doesn't have a nice smooth curve, but is really just two straight lines with different slopes that approximate a curve; there is a definite spot where the gain jumps a disproportionate amount as I turn the pot through it's range.
