All ill say on the matter: While Mayers amp was in Japan, schematics were drawn up.
Brandon (bludo) got his hands on them... I don't see why others couldn't do the same
My fav part of the video is when NM says something to the effect of "I didn't know you could get such od tones from it. I'd bet a lot of people wouldn't know"
And Nik says "I honestly didn't think so either"
Haha
Imagine making something from plans that very few have, a literally having no idea how it will sound at the end

I`ve done that more than a few times! lol! Like since 1999..........
Oboe sound w/fuzz and screamers, this guys got a good one!
I agree. If you're going for the SVR thing, I think this amp nails the tone a lot close than Nik's. Can't really say about Mayer or Johnson, I'm not really a fan of either.
Not to kick the beehive, but many of those that are holding info on the SSS back from the group, have been saying that they are doing so in order to keep Nik from doing his "just take no give" thing. Nik's put out an amp without the info coming from TAG. Perhaps it's time to reconsider that logic.
As to Nik, nice amp. (assuming this gets to you) how about a little goodwill, sharing the layout / schematic?
FWIW, Nicky is over in Malaysia right now on tour with David Sanborn. He called me a couple of days before he left and was telling me about the tour and scheduling delivery of his 100W Zingaro.
Watch for the band to be playing a lot of dates in the US this year. They have Nicky on Guitar and Ricky Petersen on keyboards.

Uh oh, I guess you haven't heard that he's considering cancelling his Zingaro order after visiting the Ceriatone (almost rhymes with Fullerton) headquarters.

I think HAD should challenge Nik to a dual with HAD’s Musket pistols.
Fifty paces and fire………………………………….
Sounds like dirt to me. The acid; test this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9oymWJXp68

Ha ha ha ha! You're in good company, my friend, with many stellar players as your happy customers -- Nicky included.

They should have done a clip with a strat, and with a better mic.
But for me - that sounds much better than any other SSS clip I've heard outside of Stevie himself I suppose (which means - I never thought much about most SSS clips, I'm just not a fan. Give me a Hiwatt instead? )
So I guess this means that if I went to Dumble himself and asked for an amp and described what I like, an amp like this clip is maybe what I would get.
But then I guess everyone would tell me "that is not an SSS" - which could be true. Oh well.

Yes, it would be an SSS. It just wouldn't be like the one SRV played.
Don't forget to put 13 gauge strings on your Strat and detune a half step if you want some of that extra Stevie sound too. Lather up your fingertips with some super glue and off you go....for a little while.
