I was concerned about that but so far to my ears I don't hear any issues with it, even cranked up. The metal was thin enough that I just stapled it on real good. The biggest issue is that it will probably get dinged up a bit over time since it is so thin. Easy to replace though - Home Depot!dcribbs1412 wrote:How does it sound?
any ringing or vibrations with the metal speaker grill?

You don't hear many clips from a pure rock and roll perspective so here is one with the amp on loan for the night to the Big Brother Band in St. Pete. This is from the sound board and using the 1x12 with the metal grille and EVM-12L speaker. A little BB boost and wah used. Volume on about 11:00 and OD pretty high. There are two guitars involved but the 3rd gen is the crunchy rhythm and solo.
The guitarist was using a Les Paul with I think Seymour Duncan '59 pickups, at least in the bridge. Those are pretty naturally distorted.

Great looking amp and nice to see someone so close. I'm over in Lakeland . I'm squirreling away parts for an ODS right now and about to try it out.

Bryan,
How do you print the transparency sheets? Those labels could not look better, I can't believe you DIY...actually its probably easier than the amps we build....but still. The design is very cool. Excellent work man

It worked okay for me on a wood faceplate but I had no good success straight on the chassis. It is a tricky thing, cutting up the 8.5x11 screen print films after exposing them and taping on the 3/32" thick wood strips before applying the ink. Then carefully removing without smudging but it worked out for me. They are reusable after you wash off the ink so you can try, try again. That said, I am still looking for a better solution for my next amp. Wood faceplates are nice but I think CAD and getting an entire chassis done to order is my next direction. End of the day I have spent at least as much time on the blank chassis work and faceplates as I have building the internals.
