A470, KT88's and Ultralinear taps?

Post by LeftyStrat »

I was browsing the forum and came across this thread:

Tony's clips of a non-HRM KT88 ODS are just amazing. I like the aggressive less refined tone, like he says, it almost has a fuzz face quality.

Anyway, that amp used an OC3 to lower the screen voltage. I've been debating using one of my Dynaco A470 OTs for an ODS, and wondered has anyone used the ultra linear taps on the screens?

It seems 4.3k for the primary would be good for a couple of KT88's. I also have a PT laying around with 375-0-375, which should be ballpark for KT88's.

Any suggestions?
