D-Lator Question

Post by lions den »

I have a D-Lator for my D-Style amp, but want to use effects in a wet/dry setup.

I know having the D-Lator hooked up to the effects loops with nothing plugged into the D-Lator send jack allows the use of the D-Lator by itself, that's all good.

now i just want to tap off of the send from the D-Lator to send to effects to be amplified through a different power amp.

Is there any harm in plugging a cable into the send of the D-Lator and also hard connecting the send/rtn jacks of the D-Lator? Or I could use a Y cable from the send jack, have one end go to the efx, and the other end of the y go back into the rtn jack of the D-Lator.

hoping for an easy fix without modding the D-Lator to be serial/parallel switchable.

thanks,
sean

That should work, and depending upon how the jacks in the D'lator are wired (send jack not wired to break the internal send-return jumper) you may not need the Y-cable. You can find that out pretty quick by sticking a plug into the send jack with the in and out jacks connected to your amp. If you still have sound, you are good.

martin, thanks for the response, and yes the jacks on the Dlator are shorting jacks so when i plug into the send jack, sounds goes away. i was looking to add a quick jumper internally at the jacks to over-ride the non-shorting feature.

thanks,

All you need to do is move the jumper from the shorting terminal to the tip terminal on the send jack.
