Re: Robben and Michael McDonald Tracking
Man, I made it through the whole set of videos just now. That was really a cool window into their creative process recording.
One thing that struck me was Ford's serious humility in asking about his tone and playing and how it was coming across. I'm a little surprised that he's not more opinionated on that, but it's refreshing to see.
The other thing was the last two videos for that one solo: second to the last shows him trying out some ideas and figuring out the sound he's after, then the last one shows the real emotional engagement with the solo. All of a sudden it just comes together.
Thanks, Tom.

I enjoyed that Tom, thanks.
A master at his craft. I liked his open attitude on his solo process in the last 2 videos. Respectable.

You are welcome.
There are some real gems in that studio.
Interesting that Robben is a video buff.
I think it is cool when a professional takes the time to show us mortals what goes on behind the scenes and the gear used.

Re: Robben and Michael McDonald Tracking
Yeah that will be a good one. Robben played on the "no lookin' back" album with him in 1985, one that doesn't show up on many RF discographies.
