#183 completed!

Post by sergio »

Today I completed my first 183 clone , the sound and tone is very good !
I play the amp for 1 hour into a 2x12 cab with G12-65 and Celestion alnico glod!
here some info and voltage:

wall voltage 228V

V1a 190 1,79
V1b 197 1,66
V2a 203 1,69
V2b 204 1,65
V3 302/307 58,8

V4/5/6/7 plate 461
screen 457

No snubber on V2 for the moment!

Thanks to ampgarage members for the info and support!

Very clean.

I'm concerned about the clearance between the chassis and the transformer windings. Is it just the angle that makes it look so close or might it benefit from opening the hole and chamfering the edges?

Congrats Sergio! It's a great feeling to finish one, isn't it....with just a bit of sadness and longing for another, I'm afraid. I just finished my 183 recently too - the one on top. It matches my 3rd gen.

No problem with the trasformer windings and the hole of chassis , this one was been chamfering a bit! maybe the angle of the photo can be deceptive!

Sonicmojo Gongrats to you! wonderful color!

dcribbs1412,my suede is Black , not blue , probably there's a strange light effects.

Thanks

@Darin, it got me too, I could of bet it was blue.

Nice one Sergio, perhaps this tint mismatch is trying to tell you something about the color of your next build, it certainly looks awesome (the blueish hue) on the picture.

@Bryan, now that you got twins, how about quintuplets, one for each generation. I know, I know, big families are expensive, but it should be fun to play each different tone, like listening from your own different children's voices. :)

I am all for it! But where does #102 or #124 fall? Are they both in the 4th gen range? And what exactly is first generation considered?

Bryan, I have no idea, but all is not lost, there is a distinguished forum member that goes by the name of Max that is an absolute authority (or close to) on Dumble generations and iterations, hope he reads your post and answers your question.

The only reason I know they (whom ever has taken responsability for the task) have catalogued up to the 5th generation is because I have not heard of a 6th.

Keep up your good work.

Cheers and all the best.
