Is there favorite iron to use for a new 3rd Generation Period Correct ODS 50W build, ala Talbany's layout? I'd probably prefer something readily availability (new production) and wonder what direction I should go for the best results. Any suggestions and sources would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Use what HAD used, BF Bassman iron. Or, if you want a separate PT winding for the relay supply, instead of a separate relay supply PT, try a tweed Bassman PT.
Magnetic Components make the BF iron and Mojotone has the tweed stuff. Both make "modern" OT versions with 4, 8 & 16 ohm secondaries.
Mercury Magnetics also has both styles, but are expensive. Best bang for the buck is Magnetic Components, www.triodeel.com

Check this thread too. It has specific details of what MC transformers I used in my 50w 3rd gen build. I am going MC again for my next 100w 70s type build.
