I like the clean channel of my #124 better when I shunt the LNFB on v1 to ground. so I was wondering whether the dumbleator would sound even better without the LNFB on the return stage?

Can you somehow do a blind test between the two to see if you can even tell a difference? 20M is a lot of resistance. I'm sure someone like dogears can but tinears (me) can't. In any case, try it both ways and decide which you like better.
Early brewers were primarily women, mostly because it was deemed a woman's job. Mesopotamian men, of some 3,800 years ago, were obviously complete assclowns and had yet to realize the pleasure of brewing beer.

No I cant easily try. But if you can't hear a difference I do wonder why it's there in the first placeFischerman wrote:Can you somehow do a blind test between the two to see if you can even tell a difference? 20M is a lot of resistance. Alexander probably included it to control the low end response of the recovery amp. It does roll off the low end and limits the gain of the stage. One of the problems with the "unlooped" recovery amp is that they are very easy to clip or at the least compression of the signal.Joost wrote:No I cant easily try. The difference is not huge but it is there. I would yould recommend to try it with and without...a guitar player and a pair or pliers will do it.
