Delta Pro 12A speaker

I know Mat used the Delta Pro 12A speaker on his 86 Special amp & the sound clips sound superb to me.

Anyone used the Delta Pro 12A in a single speaker Dumble combo & if so, how'd you like it?

It's OK - lacks a little high end. That can be a good thing for some amps and a bad thing for others. The price is not to bad to try one and see if you like it. I have one in a 2 x 12 paired with a CL80 and like the combo. Not so keen on them as an only source of sound. See this old thread:

Have both. They compare favorably in the lows & mids. The Delta Pro lacks sparkle in the highs. Not that the EV is "sparkly", but the Delta Pro comparison makes it seem so. If you live on the clean side the Delta Pro with the bright switch on is very pleasing on big clean tones.
I'll post a quick clip later tonight of the same amp pushing a Delta Pro and a 12L.

Down & dirty: Same amp, mic, guitar, settings, recorder levels, EV in a TL cab, Delta in a 2 x 12 open back. compare the highs - Bigger open back cab seemed to impart mucho more bass in Delta... There is some digital clipping on the 12L clip(likely more efficient in that TL box).

I think I could be happy with either tone but liked the 12L better especially on the cleaner tone. I liked them about equally with the OD kicked in. Both sounded pretty smooth to me.
