Dlite configuration

Post by Robbie »

I listened to the Dlite sound clips and they sound great, especially 001 which uses the Robben Ford background music. Does anybody know if this was recorded with or without the HRM version. Also, what speakers/cab were used. Sorry if this has been reviewed before.

Thanks,

Robbie

It's a non-HRM configuration. (Hybrid-A) The clips were played at very low volume using a Wolftone LP. Speaker for clips 1 & 2 was an Emi RW&B, clip 3 was a Celestion 1265. The clean clip was a Tele and RW&B speaker iirc.

I listened to those clips too.... now I'm giving thought to one of those kits. Now for the stupid question what is the difference between the non HRM and the HRM? Does one have greater tonal variation? (yes, I'm a "noob" at this Dumble stuff!)

HRM refers to a post OD tone stack. It's typically a set & forget adjustment inside the amp, but some people have also mounted externally adjustable pots.

I wouldn't say the HRM circuit has greater tonal variation, but it does have a different sound. I think it's a bit richer and smoother than the non-HRM in OD, but I don't like the cleans as much. Just preference I guess.
