D'lator in a 7" x 5" x 3" box + Thanks

Post by washburnmemphis »

Just thought I would post a picture of my take on a Dumbleator and say thanks to you guys for all the information that you've made available through this forum.

The build was inspired by Heisthl's https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=4748

The circuit that I used was based on https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=12876 posted by Talbany.

Once again, I couldn't have done it without the information on The Amp Garage.
I had started the build intending to do it in a large Hammond enclosure when I came across Heisthl's thread just before starting my build. I had seen the tread before some time ago but had forgotten about it.

The side benefit is now I have a spare large empty chassis. :D

I am running it in the loop of the 100W Ceriatone Bluesmaster that I completed a few weeks ago (still need to get some Tolex and grill cloth)

Anyhow here are some pictures:

If you are wondering about the reflective tape, it's being used to cover up the botched cutting job for the IEC socket .

Thanks! Yes, it is quiet. I was a little worried having the power supply so close to the audio signal but everything seems to be fine.
