replacing a 500pf cap?

I need to replace the 500pf capacitor on the V1 preamp tube on my Brown Note D'lite 22. It's in parallel with a 220K resistor. A local electronic supply store has an assortment of these caps. Do I need a special type of cap or will any 500pf cap work? What does that cap do in the circuit?

Its ceramic and as long as you get one rated above 450v it should be fine.

It acts as an RC filter.
