I found a Furman AR1215 on EBay for $320.

Yeah those are supposed to be nice.

The lowest I see on the web is around $350.

Most places want $550.

I surfed the web this afternoon and you can get residential voltage regulators for much cheaper than the Furman units.

The reason Furman gets away with it is because it packages theirs in the pretty rack mount enclosure.

If you don't need that check out the Tripp-Lite units.

You can find new Chinese units selling for $60 or less but I'm not sure I would trust those.

I looked at a few. I would guess that the cheap ones don't have an isolating transformer, I can't see how you could do one for $60 with an isolating transformer.

I checked a few audio sites. There are questions about the cheaper designs smearing dynamics and phase problems. Probably not an issue in MI amps but you never know.

I also have yet to find a real technical specification on ANY of these animals. IE 120V +/- What? 2V? If so, they're useless. +/-0.2V yes I'm interested.

I suspect the real solution is a SEPARATE 120V 15A line from the house main breaker, that supplies ONLY your shop, and a line conditioner AND voltage regulator with a guaranteed spec 120v +/- 0.2 or better. Not practical for many of us, I know.
