RF's dumblelator cables

anyone know what/where to get the 18ga mil spec coax to make the dumbleator cables on robben fords rig? how long are they? and id guess its a different coax thats used internally on the dumbleator too.. correct? thanks for your help and I couldn't find much else on a search

I think RG6 (DirecTV) is an AWG18 center. None too flexible, though.

thanks for the input but i can tell from the pics its pretty flexible, so it can't be tv coax... ive been told its mil spec stuff but I'm not sure what it is exactly and where to get it. thanks for your help though!

could be an illusion, but that stuff looks more pink then robben's which are more white. must be close though if not "it" :D

I`ve used this as a guitar cable, STIFF as all get out, but WHAT A SOUND! It SMOKED ALL else buy a million LIGHT years! Inc George L..
I`d say nice for interconnects! :D

I'm sure any cable, measuring 180p-200p per side will do nicely :shock: . Get your cap meter out and try a few different cables. :wink:

You have several options for PTFE coax. Depends on how long you want them. Standards are 50, 75 and 93 ohm cable.

I found some stuff years ago at Apex electronics in LA. 18ga center with full braid, but the outside diameter is .145, so the capacitance per foot is greater than the standard coax types.

You might want to check with Steve at Apex Jr, he may have some cable that is appropriate and the price will be right.

A really cool option maybe RG400/U cable. .195", 29pf/ft, stranded center and double shield. A little pricey at ~$4/ft.

steve is out of the 18ga FYI :-( maybe that was "it" since dumble used to shop there? thanks for the info about it though!
