6K6GT?
Anyone ever used a 6k6GT in a D lite or lower watt version of the ODS?
Re: 6K6GT?
Isn't the 6K6GT basically a low power 6V6 that can only take like 350V?
Your output power would be pretty low. Not sure how well it would work in a ODS.

+1 unless youre running 6v6's already it wont be worth it. If you were i'd suggest moving up to 5881's anyway. More headroom, and a nice hybrid tone between 6v6 and 6l6ChrisM wrote:Isn't the 6K6GT basically a low power 6V6 that can only take like 350V?

It's true i've lost my marbles and i cant remember where i put them

Gary, as you may know deluxe reverbs exceeded the plate voltage ratings of the 6V6s, but unless you have a pair of 6K6s to try and possibly fry, why chance it? 6K6s do work great in the fender reissue reverb units though.

Re: 6K6GT?
Was just wondering about them, tone wise, actualy just found a data sheet on them.I got a couple of them, old RCAs.A friend gave them to me yesterday. He had them in an old amp and just pulled them out and said Here ya go.I would make a low volt supply if the sound of them were worth building for.The data sheet even specs for 100volt so that might make a good practice amp even with a 1:1 transformer. But of course Id be using the ODS preamp no mater what was pushing it.
But theres a 100 watt on the bench before I even think of starting that
