2 X 12 speaker baffle

Post by txbluesboy »

I've searched the old posts, but I can't decide what is the proper baffle thickness for a Dumble style speaker cab. Anyone know for sure?

Most think 3/4". Check out first page of "files" section.

I built my 212 from the plans in the files section. I used 1/2" for the baffle. Works for me :D

Hey Chris, I saw your speakers in the file section, they look great. I have built a couple of these with 1/2 inch baffles also, that work well. I am going to use 5/8 inch on the next one to see if there is any difference. 3/4 just seems like overkill for a 2 X 12.

5/8" looks like a good compromise. Safe to say HAD's approach in alot of cases is "overkill"!!!
