I am using an RCF 15"and like it much better then my Celestion 12/65.
It is a bit louder but the sound is beautiful.
Clean ánd distorted.
Being an unknown guitarspeaker i have seen them for as little as 20 euro`s.
Bought mine for about 25 ,years ago.
Same goes for the proel distortion pedal i have which i like much better then the usual tubescreamer.Paid 14 euro`s for it.Great pedal!

2x15 E130s

Post by David Root »

Finally tried out my #124 on my 2x15 cab w/ JBL E130s. Properly matched, 4 ohm output to 4 ohm cab. Me still likeum.

Clean, clear but more bass than my open back Avatar 2x12 w/Altec 417s, not warm like the Alnicos but not cold either. No icepick treble, even with aluminum voice coil covers. Good amp testing speakers with "authoritative" bass. This in a basement room about 40 ft x18ft.

Would probably kick butt cranked up outside but it's been raining here in the great NW Rainforest for over two weeks now, they tell me summer is comin' but so is Xmas.

I would say similar to Emi Delta Pro 12A, which I have a 4x12 full of.

This 2x15 is a closed back with a small 3x3" port. I will change it to an open oval back like the Avatar 2x12 but slightly larger and block off the port.

I too have seen/heard Steve Kimock play his Dumble & his Two Rock(s) through a 15" and yes, it sounds absolutely incredible!!!! Even better a 15" & 2x12's!!! Don't think it would work for Speedy Chops McGee though....
