Things are coming along, as I have time. I am going with the Bassman D-clone final 186 type that is posted as a pdf above (Thanks to Mark Fowler!). I am going to use a 2 relay set up to switch PAB and OD. Need to make relay, relay power and rectifier/bias boards next.
No Rock/Jazz....hard wired for rock. Will also switch Loop in/out from front panel. I am hoping to use an old Mesa 2 switch Footswitch, on stereo plug to switch relays.....if that is do-able. The only other switch will be for V1 local FB on back.
I did order jborders' HRM board set, but that will be for a hundred watter for my next build. Have an old PT that will work great.
I found some formica laminate that I doubled up/glued back to back, and eyeletted. Joann Fabrics had eyelets that were a little large, but they are working fine and 100 for 4 bucks isn't bad. So board is populated and wired. I made a cover plate for the front out of 2" aluminum strap that is doubling as a wire up jig for the controls. When done, pop them out and install together. Then I will get the panel powder coated, and screened or some such thing.
The Bassman front panel being at a slant, makes it a drag to solder things at that angle.
I noticed on the Bassman 70 schemo and the amp itself, the OT has an extra tap.....the green-yellow for output and recording jack.
Andy, (or anybody else) is there any use for this?
I don't know if it is also a 2 ohm tap?????? If so, won't use it. 4ohms is plenty low as it is. fortunately, I have a Marshall 1966 box that I can wire for 4 ohms (2 X 12 EV 12L's)
Any comments/suggestions welcome. Mike
